課程概述 |
This new course continues and expands the former 3-credit required course, Library Automation. In this class, you will be introduced to the practices of systems librarianship as well as a wide array of computerized systems and technologies, including the integrated library systems (ILS) and information products and services that configure and support the public access computing and library staff work zones. You will also be introduced to the emerging technologies that are expanding and evolving the library services. |
課程目標 |
By attending the class you will:
1. Understand the technological and social trends affecting ICT adoption in libraries.
2. Understand the current ILS infrastructures and system architectures.
3. Gain knowledge in existing ILS products and services.
4. Be able to critically appraise the design of existing library information technologies. |

Limited to LIS senior undergraduate students (including those taking LIS as minor or double major) |
